A Nice Shout-Out

May 27, 2020.
Our colleague Jane Thurnell-Read in the U.K. had nice things to say about us midway down in her latest newsletter. PS: check out the address at the very end of the article for her healthy living blog. She posts really good content! Note: she mentions links in her newsletter that didn't carry through in this copy and paste. You should be able to find them at her business site Lifework Potential.

"Researchers from Penn State (US) found that adding six grams of spices to a meal high in fat and carbohydrates resulted in lower inflammation markers hours later.

The researchers used a blend of basil, bay leaf, black pepper, cinnamon, coriander, cumin, ginger, oregano, parsley, red pepper, rosemary, thyme and turmeric for the study, which was recently published in the Journal of Nutrition.

Researchers have previously found that inflammation can spike after a person eats a meal high in fat or sugar. While it is not clear whether these short bursts -- called acute inflammation -- can cause chronic inflammation, it's suspected they play a part, especially in people who are overweight or obese.

The lead researcher said: "Ultimately the gold standard would be to get people eating more healthfully and to lose weight and exercise, but those behavioral changes are difficult and take time. So in the interim, we wanted to explore whether a combination of spices that people are already familiar with and could fit in a single meal could have a positive effect."

In my book on Nutritional Testing I explain how to test for a custom blend of oils for a client/patient to take. That system could easily be adapted to test for the exact spice blend for any person.

Denise Cambiotti and Heather Phillips have a range of kinesiology courses under the Muscle Tuner® Specialist program.

The online courses are practically-focussed and professionally produced with lots of support, and optional face-to-face seminars. Some are aimed at practitioners and others are for the general public.

They have spent a lot of time designing the course, producing the videos and the support material, refining it all as they have gone along. You can check out their courses here>>
